Policemen to ensure public order during runoff election of general local polls in Moldova

Chisinau, 18 November /MOLDPRES/ - Policemen will ensure the public order during the holding of the runoff election of the general local polls and the repeated elections organized in several settlements of Moldova.   

Contacted by MOLDPRES, the press officer of the General Police Inspectorate (IGP), Oxana Toderita, said that the institution had taken all measures needed to ensure the order at the ballot.

„Policemen will have the task to ensure the security nearby the polling stations and the maintaining of the public order.  At the same time, policemen will react also to eventual notifications received on behalf of citizens. The law-enforcers ask citizens to notify the authorities, if eventual infringements appear,’’ Oxana Toderita noted.     

Also, in order not to allow infringements on the day of the ballot, the police recommend that citizens do not enter the polling station with dangerous objects, fire arms or white arms, not destroy electoral lists or electoral cards and not take ballot papers out of the polling station.
