In the runoff election, 544 people are running for the 273 mayoral mandates. Two candidates for mayor are included in the ballots, those who received the highest number of votes two weeks ago. Their registration in the ballots was done in descending order of the number of votes accumulated in the first round of voting. The exceptions are the localities of Cotova, Drochia district and Todirești, Ungheni district, where there will be only one candidate for the position of mayor on the ballots," said Caraman.
The CEC management said that, in the second round of voting, the elections will be declared valid if at least 20 percent of the number of people registered in the electoral lists participate.
