Law-enforcers register over 90 infringements or incidents during elections in Moldova

Chisinau, 19 November /MOLDPRES/ - Law-enforcers till 18:00 registered over 90 infringements or incidents during the holding of the runoff election of the general local polls. The president of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), Angelica Caraman, unveiled information to this effect at a news briefing.  

According to the CEC leadership, it is about 18 cases concerning the electoral agitation and 28 cases which regard the organized transportation of voters; three official reports were compiled to this end.

„Also, law-enforcers recorded five situations of reasonable suspicion of voters’ corruption, 21 cases of photographing the ballot paper (official reports were compiled on two cases) and 22 incidents as to infringements of the electoral process. In all cases, law-enforcers carry out activities of collecting and producing of evidence for the ascertaining of the deeds notified,’’ Angelica Caraman said.  

In the context, CEC repeatedly warned about the need to observe the legal norms concerning the electoral agitation, which is strictly banned today.   

The runoff election of the general local polls is held in 273 settlements of Moldova today. The polling stations were opened at 7:00 and will close at 21:00.
