IGP: 10 complaints on attempts to corrupt police officers recorded for one week

Chisinau, Nov. 20 /MOLDPRES/ - During one week, 10 complaints were recorded on attempts to bribe the police by drivers who tried to offer bribes so that traffic violations would not be investigated.

According to the General Police Inspectorate, in all cases, the drivers of the means of transport offered money to the police. "Currently, all people are criminally investigated for offering a bribe to an employee with a public position, and according to the law they risk a fine or even prison. We request that each traffic participant take responsibility for their own mistakes and bear responsibility for them, without involving the law enforcement officers in acts of corruption", said the IGP.

In this context, the police come with an appeal to all citizens to make them aware that bribery means criminal liability and is qualified as a crime.
