Moldovan PM, Norwegian MPs discuss Moldova's energy security

Chisinau, 21 November /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Dorin Recean has received a delegation of Norwegian MPs, members of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence of Norway’s Storting (parliament), the government’s communication and protocol department reported.
The preparations for starting the process of negotiation with the European Union, as well as the ensuring of Moldova’s energy security were among the principal subjects tackled at the meeting.
The Moldovan PM expressed appreciation for Norway’s contribution to the support of the energy projects in Moldova and providing of financial backing for overcoming the challenges.
„The energy component is priority when we talk about the economic improvement. Therefore, we focus our attention on the consolidation of the country’s energy capacities, especially on investments in renewable, efficient and sustainable green energy. We know that Norway is quite well-prepared in this regard and your expertise would be helpful for us in this respect,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.
The participants in the meeting also referred to the actions undertaken by the Moldovan authorities, in order to cope with the challenges of the last period, including to combat the misinformation and other hybrid threats on behalf of Russia, but especially to advance on the European integration segment.
The lawmakers of Norway stressed that their presence in Chisinau was a confirmation of the support and solidarity of Norwegian nation for the citizens of Moldova. The official said that they would continue backing Moldova and Ukraine in the process of rapprochement with the standards of the European Union.
