Ministry of Health, WHO signed biennial collaboration agreement

Chisinau, Nov. 22 /MOLDPRES/- Minister of Health Ala Nemerenco and WHO Regional Director for Europe Dr. Hans Henri P. Kluge signed the biennial collaboration agreement for 2024-2025 on Tuesday in Chisinau.
The agreement's budget is three million dollars, provided by the WHO.
According to the Ministry of Health, the document aims to support the Republic of Moldova in promoting universal access to quality medical care. The strategic priorities of the agreement aim at: strengthening patient-centered primary and hospital healthcare, including refugees; strengthening the public health system for emergency preparedness and response; cooperation for effective preparedness against pandemics; prevention and control of communicable and non-communicable diseases; health protection and promotion; developing capacities at national level for the implementation and maintenance of digital solutions in health; implementing efficient and transparent procurement systems for medicines and medical devices; the efficiency of the use of public funds in the health sector to ensure financial sustainability and strengthen the capacities of human resources in health, their planning and retention.
To achieve the objectives, WHO will support our country in the implementation of the Health 2030 National Strategy, approved in June 2023, and the existing National Programs. In this regard, WHO will provide assistance to the Ministry of Health and purchase the necessary medical equipment and supplies.
