Farmers to have direct access to register animals in Information System on Food Security

Chisinau, Nov. 22 /MOLDPRES/- The government today approved new measures to improve animal identification and registration procedures. Farm administrators will benefit from direct access to register animal data in the Integrated Information System on Food Security.
Veterinarians will be able to devote more time to the veterinary care needed by animals without being responsible for recording technical data.
The project sets more flexible procedures on the identification and registration of pigs from commercial holdings, which supply animals to the short supply chain, by granting the right to group registration of pigs from authorized holdings.
The director of the National Agency for Food Safety, Radu Musteata, said that the adjustments will contribute to the correct evaluation of livestock, this being an important factor in the development of policies.
