Moldovan PM meets World Health Organization's regional director

Chisinau, 22 November /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Dorin Recean today had a meeting with the Regional Director for Europe of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr. Hans Kluge. The official was accompanied by the WHO representative in the European Union, Oxana Domenti, and the WHO representative in Moldova, Miljana Grbic, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The officials tackled more topical subjects in the health sector and management of humanitarian crisis situations. The participants in the meeting also referred to the improvement of the medical services and the need of the health system’s digitalization.
The PM thanked WHO for the support provided during time and expressed confidence in the continuation and extension of the bilateral cooperation on projects of major importance.
„We focus the attention on two important projects: digital medical assistance and investments in research. We managed to increase the salaries of the health sector employees and, with the support of foreign partners, medical institutions were renovated and better conditions for work were created,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean stressed.
Regional Director for Europe of the World Health Organization Dr. Hans Kluge reconfirmed that the institution he represents would support the development of the health system of Moldova, including through the improvement of the access to the essential health services.
