Moldovan parliament to host meeting of Parliamentary Assembly of Central European Initiative

Chisinau, Nov. 23 /MOLDPRES/- Parliament will host a meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Central European Initiative (CEI) on 27 November. MPs from the 16 CEI member countries will debate the topic related to the support of European integration and the promotion of the sustainable development of the CEI region.
Speaker Igor Grosu, CEI Secretary General Roberto Antonione and acting President of the Parliamentary Dimension of the Central European Initiative Igor Chiriac will deliver speeches at the event. Deputy speaker Mihail Popșoi, head of the foreign policy and European integration commission Doina Gherman, head of the economy, budget and finance commission Radu Marian, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and EU Delegation to Moldova will also address the participants of the event.
The meetings of the three general committees of the Parliamentary Assembly will also take place on November 27. Final document of the meeting will be adopted at the end.
It should be noted that, in 2023, the Republic of Moldova holds the Presidency of the Central European Initiative. CEI is the oldest and largest intergovernmental forum for regional cooperation in Central Europe, which promotes political, economic, cultural and scientific cooperation between member states.
Moldova has been a member of the Central European Initiative since 1996.
