Moldovan president has meeting with French government's secretary general for European affairs

Chisinau, 23 November /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today had a discussion with French Government’s Secretary General for European Affairs Emmanuel Puisais-Jauvin. The General Secretariat for European Affairs of France is a department at the Chancellery of the French prime minister, in charge of the inter-ministerial coordination for European issues, the presidential press service has reported.
The head of state discussed the next steps in the process of Moldova’s accession to EU, after the publication by the European Commission of the Enlargement Package for 2023 on 8 November. A period comes, during which the EU member states will discuss the conclusions and recommendations of the Commission ahead of the European Council’s meeting, due in Brussels on 14-15 December. France is an EU member state which supports Moldova’s European integration way and helps the country consolidate the democratic processes and significantly contributes to Moldova’s modernization, backing projects in key sectors, such as the energy, economic and security ones.
The Moldovan president stressed that the structural reforms which the country was carrying out help us improve the living standards in Moldova and strengthen the public institutions. In the context, the head of state noted that the country’s institutions might benefit from the good practices applied by the General Secretariat for European Affairs.
