Chisinau, 24 November /MOLDPRES/ - The inauguration of the Christmas Tree on the Great National Assembly Square (PMAN) from Chisinau will take place on 23 December this year. Also at that time, the decorative illumination will be turned on in the city. The Chisinau general mayor, Ion Ceban, made statements to this effect at today’s operative meeting of the municipal services.
The mayor stressed that the preparations for the winter holidays were in full swing at present. ‘’This year, the city hall prepares a festive schedule for the winter holidays. We will arrange the city; we will decorate the districts with lights and will organize topic-related fairs, as well as shows. I call on the economic agents, just as in the previous years, to decorate the buildings they own,’’ Ion Ceban said.
Thus, the event dedicated to the inauguration of the winter holidays will comprise a musical and artistic show on holiday subjects. Singer Stefan Banica Junior from Romania is among the special guests.
„On this period, hundreds of thousands of visitors, both of Moldova and from abroad, come to Chisinau; yet, the nicest thing is that our fellow countrymen return home on holidays. I hope that the fairy scene of the winter holidays will be auspicious for the Chisinau residents and the capital’s guests,’’ Ceban noted.
Also, fairs with traditional craftsmanship objects, souvenirs, toys, as well as food products of native producers will be arranged. The House of Santa Claus and other areas for children will be set on PMAN. Also, musical and artistic shows will be organized on 31 December, the New Year Night, as well as on 6 January 2024.
In 2022, the Christmas Tree dedicated to the winter holidays was inaugurated on 17 December.
