Moldovan parliament launched contest for selecting members of Council of Center for Strategic Communication and Combating Disinformation

Chisinau, Nov. 27 /MOLDPRES/- The parliamentary committee for culture, education, research, youth, sport and mass media started today the procedure for selecting candidates, representatives of civil society for the position of member of the Council of the Center for Strategic Communication and Combating Disinformation. The candidates will be appointed by Parliament.

Interested people can apply for by December 8. Candidates must meet several conditions: be citizens of Moldova; have higher education relevant to the Center's activity; not have a criminal record, including those erased or annulled by the court, with the exception of criminal records for crimes committed due to imprudence; not to be deprived of the right to hold certain positions or to exercise a certain activity, as a main or complementary punishment, by a final court decision; to know the Romanian language.

The Center for Strategic Communication and Combating Disinformation was created this July. The institution has the mission of strengthening and improving inter-institutional efforts in the fight against disinformation, manipulation of information and against coordinated actions to spread messages, communications that present danger or may endanger the achievement of national interests. The Council of the Center is made up of 11 members.
