Moldovan president announces mayors' forum

Chisinau, 4 Dec. /MOLDPRES/- On December 9, an event will be organized for all elected mayors who are interested in using the opportunities associated with European integration. The forum is organized under the auspices of President Maia Sandu, the presidential press service has reported.

"Dear elected mayors, it will depend on you how our localities develop in the next 4 years. People have given you their trust and support, hoping that you will work to build villages and towns that we can enjoy living in and be proud of. I want to discuss how we can do these things together. I invite and wait for you at the mayors' forum, organized on December 9, to lay the foundation for a beneficial collaboration for all citizens," the head of state said.

The president said that the central and local authorities' goal is to create strong communities, improve living conditions at home and transform Moldova into a European country.

"You, the local representatives, are at the forefront of the residents' needs. Only together - the central administration and the local administration - will we be able to meet these requirements and improve the lives of all Moldovans. See you on December 9 at the mayors' forum!" Maia Sandu said.
