France to grant 40 million euro- loan to Moldova to strengthen forestry sector

Chisinau, 4 Dec. /MOLDPRES/- French Development Agency will provide the Republic of Moldova with financial support for strengthening the forestry sector. Members of the parliamentary committee on foreign policy and European integration approved today the opinion for the initiation of negotiations in this regard.

The draft Credit Facility Agreement, due to be concluded with the French Development Agency, involves the granting of a loan worth 40 million euros. Additionally, the Republic of Moldova will benefit from a grant of 1.2 million euros, offered by the same institution as technical support.

The money is meant for the implementation of reforms in the forestry sector and its modernization, in accordance with all the regulations and acquis of the European Union, as well as the commitments of the Republic of Moldova from international agreements.
