Chisinau, 4 Dec. /MOLDPRES/- The head of Moldovan diplomacy, Nicu Popescu, had a phone conversation with Olha Stefanishyna, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine, the MAEIE press service has reported.
The officials noted the significant progress made by both the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, which led to the European Commission's recommendation to the European Council to start accession negotiations with our countries. We rely on the fact that this recommendation will be a solid foundation for the European Union member states to express their support through their vote in the Council scheduled for 14-15 December.
"During the discussion, we reiterated our firm commitment to Ukraine's sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders. We also emphasized that we will continue to provide all our assistance to our Ukrainian friends, both bilaterally and within international organizations," Popescu said.
