Moldovan Agriculture Ministry to benefit from assistance of EU's high-level adviser

Chisinau, 4 December /MOLDPRES/ - Expert Rolandas Taraškevičius, high-level adviser in the agricultural sector from the European Union, today started his work at the Agriculture and Food Industry Ministry (MAIA). His mission includes the analysis of the legislation in force and submitting solutions due to bring the national legislation in line with the European standards.
According to MAIA, during 20 years, the adviser’s expertise was essential for more states in the process of revising the present policies and on preparation for accession to EU. ‘’Starting from 2007 till 2015, Rolandas Taraškevičius was attaché in the agricultural sector of Lithuania’s Resident Representation in the European Union. Subsequently, he held the position of deputy minister at the Agriculture Ministry from Lithuania,’’ the ministry also said.
In the beginning of the mission, the expert had a meeting with the ministry’s leadership, during which Agriculture and Food Industry Minister Vladimir Bolea said that ‘’the ministry’s main priority is the reformation and updating of the legal framework, in order to fulfill the requirements and ensure the compatibility with the European norms.’’
