Annual meeting of countries of NATO's Defence and Related Security Capacity Building Initiative starts in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 5 December /MOLDPRES/ - The annual meeting of the countries of NATO’s Defence and Related Security Capacity Building (DCB) Initiative started in Chisinau today.
The event, organized by the Defence Ministry, jointly with the Partnership and Cooperation Security Committee (PCSC) of NATO, brings together representatives of the allied and partner countries, decision-makers in charge of DCBI’s implementation, as well as the states beneficiaries of this cooperation mechanism, such as Bosnia & Herzegovina, Georgia, Jordan, Iraq, Mauritania and Tunisia. This meeting is held in Chisinau for the first time ever.
The meeting’s goal is to tackle the present stage of the carrying out of the projects envisaged in DCBI, identify ways of improving the process, as well as synchronize the national and international efforts in this respect, in order to enhance the international security.
At the same time, the meeting’s agenda includes the presentation of examples on the implementation of the initiatives of the DCB package and the related projects in other states, as well as within the United Nations Organization.
In the beginning of the event, Defence Minister Anatolie Nosatii said that, after the change of the regional security paradigm starting from 24 February 2022, the national defence had become a priority for the political leadership of Moldova, which provided full support for the transformation and modernization of the defence sector and development of the national resilience.
„Our strategic goal is to develop the defence capabilities of Moldova in line with NATO’s standards and the support of our partners is essential in the achievement of this desideratum,’’ Anatolie Nosatii said.
R. Moldova joined the Defence and Related Security Capacity Building Initiative (DCBI) in 2015 year.
