Anniversary exhibition of Moldovan drawer inaugurated National Library

Chisinau, 5 December /MOLDPRES/ - An exhibition of graphic arts and engraving by fine artist, university professor, Merited Master in Art Alexei Colibneac, occasioned by his 80th birthday anniversary and 50 years of work as illustrator of magazines for children Alunelul and Noi (We), was inaugurated at the National Library (BNRM) today.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, Alexei Colibneac said the exhibition comprised 15 book illustrations and 18 engraving works of the cycle, Committing of Sin.
Alexei Colibneac was born in the Drepcauti village, northern Briceni district, on 25 December 1943. He studied at the A. Plamadeala Republican Fine Arts College (1957-1962), I. Repin Institute of Sculpture and Architecture from Leningrad, drawing section, presently the Academy of Arts from St. Petersburg (1962-1971). Colibneac was awarded the honorary diploma, Hans Christian Andersen, of the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY) (Basel city, Switzerland, 2006). His works were purchased by the Fine Arts Museum of Moldova, as well as other prestigious museums: Tretyakov Gallery from Moscow, Nakamura from Japan, Municipal Gallery Art-Avangard from Moinesti, Romania, etc.
The exhibition will be opened till 20 January.
