Moldovan government doubling scholarships for education students

Chisinau, Dec. 6 /MOLDPRES/- Next year, teaching students will benefit from double-sized scholarships. Government approved a decision in this regard today as a measure to support future teaching staff, the government's communication department has reported.

Thus, first cycle students, who benefit from category I scholarship, will receive 2,810 lei from the state budget monthly, 2,800 lei are provided for category II, 2,200 lei for category III.

The size of the scholarship for students in their final years from education specialties has been increased to 3,280 lei for category I, up to 2,800 lei for category II and 2,570 lei for category III.

Out of the total number of students, category I scholarships receive 10%, category II - 20% and category III - 70%.

Next year, over 34 million lei will be earmarked from the state budget to double the amount of scholarships for students with pedagogic profile.
