Moldovan president meets Head of Council of Europe Office in Chisinau

Chisinau, 6 December /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu has had a meeting with Head of the Council of Europe’s Office in Chisinau Falk Lange, the presidential press service reported.   

The Moldovan president thanked the head of the mission for the fact that, for almost three decades, the institution had been a solid partner in the process of reformation and democratization of Moldova. She appreciated the support provided for the elaboration of the new action plan of the Council of Europe for Moldova for 2025-2028.    

The head of state praised the Council of Europe’s expertise for the consolidation of the electoral framework and the media pluralism and especially the close cooperation with the European Commission for Democracy through Law (Venice Commission). In the context, Maia Sandu referred to the progress made and the challenges in the justice reform, reiterating that the efforts were doing their utmost to combat the corruption and consolidate the rule of law state.
