National Commission for European Integration approved Plan for limiting excessive influence of private interests (deoligarchization)

Chisinau, Dec. 7 /MOLDPRES/- National Commission for European Integration (CNIE), chaired by head of state Maia Sandu convened today. The commission members reviewed the progress made in implementing the recommendations of the European Commission, set in the institution's report of November 8, the presidential press service has reported.
The participants in the CNIE meeting approved a Plan for limiting the excessive influence of private interests on economic, political and public life (deoligarchization plan), which is part of the 9 recommendations of the European Commission. The plan sees the exclusion of normative gaps and practical deficiencies, so that state institutions and resources can no longer be used in the interests of criminal groups. Also, according to the plan, there will be a mechanism for periodic monitoring of the implementation of the measures proposed by public institutions.
They also discussed the next steps towards the full compliance with all European Commission recommendations. At the same time, they talked about diplomatic efforts on the eve of the European Council meeting on December 14-15 to promote the initiation of negotiations for accession to the European Union as soon as possible.
