Japan donates consignment of medicines worth over 330,000 dollars to Moldova

Chisinau, 7 December /MOLDPRES/ - The government of Japan has donated to Moldova a consignment of medicines worth 330,533.69 dollars for the treatment of tuberculosis.
Attending the event of official delivery of the medicines were a state secretary of the Health Ministry, Angela Paraschiv, Ambassador of Japan to Moldova Yamada Yoichiro, the head of the Department Support for Countries and Communities for Impact, Viorel Soltan, Stop TB Partnership, Geneva, and the director of the Chiril Draganiuc Institute of Phthisiopneumology, Doina Rusu.
The consignment provided comprises five types of medicines, which cover 50 courses of treatment, meant for adults and six types of medicines for ten courses of treatment, meant for children. The batch of preparations includes forms of medicines for children, which are easy to administer and allow a more accurate dosing.
The medicines were purchased with the financial support of the government of Japan amounting to 330,533.69 dollars. The technical assistance needed was provided by the Stop TB Partnership.
The national TB response programme for 2022-2025 has been recently approved in Moldova. The programme has the goal to increase the rate of healing among patients, improve the access to treatment for all citizens, reduce the incidence of TB and the death rate.
