Telecommunications companies can apply for funding programs offered by European Commission

Chisinau, Dec. 7 /MOLDPRES/- Telecommunications companies of the country can apply for financing programs offered by the European Commission for the implementation of digitization projects. The opportunity is offered through the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), the Republic of Moldova being the first non-EU state to associate with the mechanism.
According to the National Agency for Regulation in Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI), the purpose of the financing programs is to build high-capacity backbone networks to ensure international connectivity, cross-border coverage with 5G networks along rail transport corridors, waterways and land to improve connectivity with Europe.
The Republic of Moldova and Ukraine for the first time can directly apply for European funding within the project program, following the signing of association agreements at CEF this year. The deadline for submitting project proposals is February 20, 2024.
The Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) supports the implementation of projects of European interest, aimed at developing and building new infrastructures and services, as well as modernizing existing infrastructures and services in the sectors: transport, telecommunications and energy.
