Moldovan MPs make amendments to national strategy of prevention, combating of money laundering

Chisinau, 7 December /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament today adopted amendments to the national strategy of prevention and combating of money laundering and financing of terrorism for 2020-2025.

The Parliament Decision on the adoption of the national strategy of prevention and combating of money laundering and financing of terrorism for 2020-2025 and of the action plan for the strategy’s implementation was completed with an additional list of reporting entities.

According to the draft law’s authors, the implementation of the legal framework related to this sector will be ensured through the clear establishment of the authorities.

The amendments proposed were formulated based on recommendations by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), the provisions of the EU Directive 2018/843 from 20 May 2015 and recommendations by the MONEYVAL Committee of the Council of Europe, as a result of the national evaluation of the concerned field.

The national strategy of prevention and combating of money laundering and financing of terrorism for 2020-2025 was adopted by the parliament in 2020.
