Deputy Prime Minister attends round table organized by Promo-LEX Association

Chisinau, Dec. 8 /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian participated today in a round table presenting the Report Human rights in the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova, 2023, an event organized by the Promo-LEX Association, the Reintegration Policy Office has reported.
Serebrian reiterated the national authorities' willingness to continue working with civil society to identify the necessary solutions to eradicate the violation of human rights in the Transnistrian region.
"The human rights situation on the left side of the Dniester remains dramatic, we have illegal detainees on various unclear criteria, flagrant deviations from the principle of free movement, limitation of access to education in the Romanian language, etc. We will continue to work to improving the situation, but it goes without saying that only a definitive, political solution to the Transnistrian conflict will also lead to the solution of the multiple problems related to human rights", he said.
The Promo-LEX report includes the retrospective analysis of the situation in the rights and freedoms most frequently violated in the Transnistrian region, namely: the right to freedom and safety, the prohibition of torture, freedom of expression, freedom of movement, the right to education and the right to property.
