Moldovan speaker delivers speech at Mayors' Forum

Chisinau, Dec. 9 /MOLDPRES/- Speaker Igor Grosu delivered a speech at Mayors' Forum today. He urged the mayors to elect the administration of the districts as soon as possible. He said he will try to find a way to make changes to the state budget bill for 2024 in order to increase the salaries of local representatives.

Igor Grosu said that all the assets that different central institutions or agencies in the communities have should be transferred to the possession of local public administrations. It is about buildings or land, they must be exploited by the local authorities.

He added that soon changes should be made to the state budget law so that the salaries of local representatives and local public administration representatives can be increased.

He congratulated the elected and re-elected mayors and noted that recently our country faced a serious situation of vote buying.

Mayors' Forum took place at the Palace of the Republic today. The event was attended by representatives of over 700 localities from all over the country. It was organized by the government, in collaboration with the Congress of Local Authorities of Moldova, under the auspices of President Maia Sandu.
