Moldovan, French officials approach cooperation, reforms

Chisinau, Dec. 9 /MOLDPRES/- President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu had a phone conversation with President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron, focused on the bilateral relationship and Moldova's accession to the European Union, the presidential press service has reported.

The head of state emphasized the firm commitment of the country to carry out the necessary reforms in order to meet the accession criteria. The official voiced hope that France will continue to play an active role in supporting Moldova in the path.

The sides also talked about the security situation in the region and the bilateral cooperation and support of France in modernizing Moldova, including in the defense, justice reform, economic development and others.
