Moldova, Latvia signed agreement in social security

Chisinau, Dec. 13 /MOLDPRES/- Moldova and Latvia signed an agreement in social security in Brussels. The document guarantees Moldovan citizens the right to old-age pension, survivor's pension, disability pension caused by a general condition, pension and disability allowance caused by a work accident or occupational disease and death benefit from the state where they have worked legally.
According to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, insured persons will have the opportunity to benefit from a pension regardless of where they reside, and each state will apply the national legislation in the field, the pension being transferred monthly to the beneficiary on the territory of the state where he resides.
Moldova has signed international agreements in the social security based on principles of proportionality with 17 states: Romania, Portugal, Bulgaria, Luxembourg, Austria, Estonia, Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Belgium, Lithuania, Germany, Turkey, Belarus, Greece, Italy and Spain. The agreement signed with Spain is to be ratified by the Parliament.
