Moldovan president meets Ambassador of Azerbaijan

Chisinau, 13 December /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today had a meeting with Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Moldova Gudsi Osmanov, who ends his diplomatic mission in the country, the presidential press service has reported.

Maia Sandu thanked the Azeri ambassador for the effort made for the consolidation of the relations between Chisinau and Baku. The head of state awarded Gudsi Osmanov the Order of Honour, as a token of high appreciation for the good cooperation between Moldova and Azerbaijan, as well as for Moldova’s support on the crisis period.

At the meeting, the Moldovan president stressed the importance of the cooperation in more sectors and the increase in the commercial exchanges. The head of state also welcomed the launch of the direct flights between Baku and Chisinau by the Azerbaidjan Airlines air company starting from 15 September.
