System of producing medical oxygen launched at district hospital from central Moldova

Chisinau, 13 December /MOLDPRES/ - A platform along with the station generating medical oxygen was launched at the Calarasi district hospital today. The station will be used for producing oxygen continuously, in checked quantities, in order to meet the needs of patients with respiratory problems and other medical diseases which require oxygen therapy.    

These devices are essential in the treatment of patients with difficulties in getting enough oxygen.

„The initiative is part of a vaster project, carried out in partnership with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Global Fund, in cooperation with the Global Organization FHI 360 and the Unit of Coordination, Implementation and Monitoring of Projects in Health Sector,’’ the Health Ministry said.   

The project implies the setting of four oxygen generators at all public  medical and sanitary institutions from Moldova. They are already set at the Chiril Draganiuc Institute of Phthisiopneumology, Glodeni district hospital and Calarasi district hospital and are to be connected in the beginning of the next year; as for the station from the Clinical Hospital of the Health Ministry, the works are to be started.     

The project represents a significant step for improving the medical infrastructure and the quality of the services provided to patients from the beneficiary institutions, the competent ministry added.
