Best sportspeople of Moldova from 2023 year awarded prizes at Sports Gala

Chisinau, 16 December /MOLDPRES/ - The best sportspeople from Moldova and their coaches have been awarded prizes at the Sports Gala 2023, organized by the Education and Research Ministry (MEC). This year, Moldovan sportspeople got 545 medals at a string of Olympic, Paralympic and non-Olympic competitions at diverse age categories, which is a record result for Moldova. Also, six sportspeople managed to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

The best sportswoman of Moldova of the 2023 year was elected wrestler Anastasia Nichita, European champion, world vice-champion, who qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

The best sportswoman of the 2023 year became Serghei Tarnovschi, who got bronze medal at the Kayak-Canoe World Championships, who qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Oleg Cretul, who won a bronze medal at the Para Judo World Championships, also got the title of the best sportsman of the 2023 year.

Andrei Chiperi and Vitalie Gligor were nominated the best coaches of the 2023 year.

MEC allocated about 24.3 million lei for the awarding of prizes to sportspeople and coaches.
