COVID-19: 558 cases registered in Moldova in last week

Chisinau, 19 December /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 558 COVID-19 cases and the first case of seasonal flu were registered in Moldova in the last week.
According to the National Public Health Agency (ANSP), on 11-17 December, 558 cases of COVID-19 were recorded, which is by 15.3 per cent more against the week before. Children with ages up to 14 years accounted for 9.5 per cent of all cases, which is by 35.9 per cent less against the previous week. Six cases of death related to the COVID-19 infection were registered.
ANSP specialists recommend the observance of the principal protection measures for citizens’ health and safety. Among them there are: the keeping of social distance, avoiding of crowded places; observance of hands’ hygiene rules, respiratory hygiene; observance of the sanitary measures at the working place, with the airing of closed spaces; wearing masks in medical institutions and appealing to family physician upon the appearance of the first symptoms of the COVID-19 infection.
Physicians reiterate that the vaccination against the flu and COVID-19 stays the most efficient way of avoiding serious cases of disease and death.
