Street lighting systems installed in over 80 villages through European Village and Express European Village programs

Chisinau, Dec. 21 /MOLDPRES/- 37 projects aimed at modernizing street lighting systems through the European Village program have been successfully completed. Another 46 localities benefited from similar projects through the Express European Village program.

An example in this sense is the project to extend the public street lighting line in Lalova village, Rezina district. Through the project included in the Express European Village program, the community benefited from an investment of 341 thousand lei (17 thousand euros) from the National Fund for Regional and Local Development. About 1,500 residents of Lalova now enjoy efficient lighting and safety on the streets.

The project to increase the degree of coverage of streets and public spaces with street lighting in Chetroșica Nouă village, Edineț district has been completed. With an investment of 445 thousand lei from the Government, approximately 6 km of street lighting network were built, increasing safety for the 1,000 inhabitants of the village.

The European Village program has registered a level of 258 completed projects out of 497 approved projects. Through the Express European Village program, another 240 projects have been completed out of 399 approved initiatives.
