Moldovan government approves National Development Plan for 2024-2026

Chisinau, 21 December /MOLDPRES/ - Over 100 investment projects and reform measures have been included in the National Development Plan for 2024-2026, approved by the cabinet. The document will contribute to the achievement of the goals included in the government’s action programme and the European Moldova 2030 national development strategy, the government’s communication department has reported.
Under the Plan, 155 development projects will be carried out for the modernization of Moldovan settlements and 190 settlements will be connected to the water supply system. Also, roads, bridges and the railway transport will be modernized and the country’s electric energy system will be strengthened through the construction of over 200 km of electric lines.
The actions included in the document also regard the enhancement of the energy efficiency in the public and residential sector and the modernization of the system of centralized supply with thermal energy of the Chisinau and Balti municipalities. At the same time, 80 irrigation systems are to be set for at least 3,500 hectares of farmlands and three projects on the management of waste are to be carried in the Calarasi, Ungheni and Nisporeni districts.
Other priorities concern the enhancement of the security, defence policies and the reform in the justice sector – by the 2026 year, about 170 judges and 230 prosecutors will undergo the external evaluation.
At the same time, to create well-paid jobs, the plan sees the implementation of complex programmes on backing the entrepreneurship and enhancing the access to financing. As a result, over 1,000 economic agents will be annually supported and the state will invest about 3.5 billion lei to back the entrepreneurs.
The implementation of the National Development Plan will be assessed monthly and the costs estimated for the actions planned are of about 59 billion lei.
