Movement opened on bridge nearby Balti city

Chisinau, 21 December /MOLDPRES/ - The movement was opened on the road knot (bridge) on the road M5, km 133, at the exit from the Balti city today. Infrastructure and Regional Development Minister Andrei Spinu has made statements to this effect.
„Starting from today, the participants in the traffic and the residents of the region can move on a road made according to European standards. This was a quite complicated project: the walls were demolished, as they were in a precarious state and no longer coped with the burden and almost 7,000 cubic metres of concrete and 5,278 tons of asphalt mixture were cast. Besides, to enhance the safety, 85 road signs were set and 1,783 square metres of road marking was put,’’ the minister said.
The road knot on the road M5 Border with Ukraine - Criva – Balti – Chisinau – Tiraspol – border with Ukraine is the most important intersection from north Moldova and its rehabilitation means the creation of infrastructure and economic connections between the central and northern Moldova.
The works on the construction of the road knot nearby the Balti city started in 2019 and under the contract, they were to be finished till December 2020. In early last August, Prime Minister Dorin Recean inspected the works and showed discontent with their lasting for years. The official gave assurances that the road knot would be fully opened for movement in several months.
