Moldovan parliament adopted strategic communication concept for 2024-2028

Chisinau, Dec. 22 /MOLDPRES/- Paprliament adopted concept of strategic communication and countering disinformation, information manipulation actions and foreign interference for 2024-2028 today. The document, criticized by the parliamentary opposition was voted by 56 MPs.
The concept was developed by the Center for Strategic Communication and Combating Disinformation. The document represents the programmatic vision on how strategic communication and countering disinformation, information manipulation actions and foreign interference will contribute to fulfilling the mission of the Center for Strategic Communication and Combating Disinformation during 2024-2028.
The document defines national interests, threats, risks, vulnerabilities and directions for action to ensure national security and resilience. The concept is aligned with the vision of democratic governance, generating stability, security and prosperity of the Republic of Moldova, as well as with European integration efforts.
The draft resolution on structure of the Center for Strategic Communication and Combating Disinformation was voted at today's plenary session. The maximum staff of the Center will be 20 units. The institution will be headed by a director and a deputy head.
The Center for Strategic Communication and Combating Disinformation, created this year, has the mission of strengthening cooperation between institutions in the fight against disinformation, manipulation of information and foreign interference, which pose a danger or may harm national security and jeopardize the achievement of national interests.
