New members of Superior Council of Prosecutors elected in Moldova

Chisinau, 22 December /MOLDPRES/ - The General Assembly of Prosecutors today elected the new members of the Superior Council of Prosecutors (CSP).  

Thus, following the voting, prosecutor Dumitru Obada got the majority from the among the prosecutors at the General Assembly and from the territorial and specialized prosecutor’s offices, the deputy acting Prosecutor General, Aliona Nesterov, got the majority. Other candidates elected to the new Council are the prosecutors: Eduard Panea, Elena Roșior and Olesea Vîrlan.   

Acting Prosecutor General Ion Munteanu thanked the prosecutors from all over Moldova ‘’for participation in the assembly and for the work carried out in the last year.’’  

At the same time, Justice Minister Veronica Mihailov-Moraru conveyed a congratulatory message to the new CSP members. „I wish them much success, will and perseverance, in order to change the things in the prosecutor’s office and in the society for the better. The today’s General Assembly was a productive one and the prosecutors participated actively and with responsibility. It will not be easy, but with joint efforts, through cooperation and constructive dialogue, I am sure that we will be able to advance for the settlement of more problems on the segment of justice and anticorruption, as well as the ones specific for the work of the prosecutor’s office system, in order to fulfill all legal duties with professionalism and integrity,’’ Veronica Mihailov-Moraru said.  

As many as 506 prosecutors out of those 600 ones in office participated in the assembly, with 720 positions being according to the personnel.
