Two hospitals of Moldova to merge to provide more qualitative medical services to patients

Chisinau, 27 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Toma Ciorba Clinical Hospital of Infectious Diseases will merge with the Hospital of Dermatology and Communicable Diseases. The cabinet today approved a draft to this end, at an initiative by the Health Ministry, the government’s communication department has reported.     

The reorganization implies the optimization of expenses, optimization of the administrative processes, the restructuring and strengthening of the institutions through the investments due to be made in infrastructure, capacities and competences, through a joint management, taking into account the similar specific feature of the work – treatment of the contagious diseases. The measure will not affect the employees of these hospitals, who will preserve their jobs within the new structure.    

The significant investments and restructurings at the hospitals are essential, taking into account the imperative to consolidate the country’s capacities in approaching the emergencies related to the infectious diseases and epidemiological situations. The efficient use of both hospitals’ resources represents an indispensable component for achieving these goals. This will significantly contribute to the creation of a solid health system and prepared to manage the present and future challenges and will improve the conditions of work of the medical staff, ensuring,  at the same time, a high quality of the medical services provided to patients.     

At the same time, the government ruled to include the Republican Centre of Rehabilitation for Children in the system of mandatory health insurances. This will allow the Centre diversifying the rehabilitation programmes according to the time needed, in line with the Individual Rehabilitation Programme.
