Moldovan health minister informs about details on merger of two hospitals

Chisinau, 28 December /MOLDPRES/ - Health Minister Ala Nemerenco today informed about details on the merger of the Toma Ciorba Clinical Hospital of Infectious Diseases and the Hospital of Dermatology and Communicable Diseases.
According to the minister, this merger will no cost budget money, the physicians will not lose their jobs and only several leadership offices will be liquidated.
Nemerenco noted that the Toma Ciorba Hospital did not have section of reanimation, pediatrics, laboratory. ‘’There are already funds which, after the merger, will be invested in the creation of a modern laboratory. We will continue the investments in the infrastructure of these hospitals: about five million lei has been already invested in the Toma Ciorba Hospital and another two million lei – in the Hospital of Dermatology and Communicable Diseases,’’ the official noted.
The cabinet on 27 December approved a draft which sees the merger of the Toma Ciorba Clinical Hospital of Infectious Diseases with the Hospital of Dermatology and Communicable Diseases. Under the document, the reorganization implies the optimization of expenses, optimization of the administrative processes, the restructuring and strengthening of the institutions through the investments due to be made in infrastructure, capacities and competences, through a joint management, taking into account the similar specific feature of the work – treatment of the contagious diseases. The measure will not affect the employees of these hospitals, who will preserve their jobs within the new structure.
