Period of reimbursement of value added tax for Moldovan agricultural producers to be extended by 12 months

Chisinau, 28 December /MOLDPRES/ - The MPs, at a today’s plenary meeting, approved the draft on amendment of the Law on the programme on reimbursement of the value added tax (VAT) for the agricultural producers.  

The measures suggested regards the extension by 12 months of the period in which the economic agents working in the agricultural sector will benefit from the reimbursement of the VAT. The reimbursement will be made for the period 2023-2024. The economic agents, the activity of which represents, at the level of 95 per cent, one or more of the following activities will benefit from reimbursement: cultivation of plants from permanent and non-permanent crops; cultivation of plants for multiplication; breeding of animals, activities in mixed farms; activities auxiliary to agriculture and activities after the harvesting. Also, the farming producers who had losses as a result of the embargo imposed by Russia on the import of vegetable products from Moldova will benefit from reimbursement as well.       

Decision-makers estimate that about 700 economic agents working in the agricultural sector will benefit from the VAT’s reimbursement and the sum allocated from budgetary sources will be of about 285 million lei.
