Energocom, Moldovagaz stock companies sign contract on sale and purchase of natural gas

Chisinau, 29 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Energocom and Moldovagaz stock companies have signed a contract on the sale and purchase of natural gas, in order to cover the needed amount for the consumers on the right bank of Dniester. The contract provides for the delivery of an estimated volume of 451 million cubic metres of gas for the period January-April 2024 at a price of 550 euros for 1,000 cubic metres of gas.   

Energocom noted that the price ‘’might be decreased subsequently.’’  

Also, Energocom signed five contracts on the sale and purchase of electric energy with the providers of the universal service, of last resort and the system operators, which see the delivery of electric energy for the period January-December 2024. The electric energy supplied by the Energocom stock company will be bought preponderantly from the MGRES (Kuchurgan power station) at a price of 66 dollars/MWh, from heating power stations (CETs), producers of energy on the European market and, if needed, it will be purchased from the OPCOM exchange, in order to cover the deficit of electric energy.   

Earlier this week, the Commission for Emergency Situations ruled that the Moldovagaz and Energocom stock companies would conclude, till 29 December 2023, an EFET-type contract on the delivery of natural gas for the period January-April 2024. On the same period, Energocom was to conclude contracts on the purchasing of electric energy for the period January-April 2024.
