Moldovan foreign affairs ministry issues alert of travel to Sweden, Finland

Chisinau, 4 January /MOLDPRES/ - The Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE) today issued an alert of travel to Sweden and Finland.
According to MAEIE, the authorities of Finland and Sweden issued a warning following the drop in the air temperature in certain regions.
„ The Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute issued a warning of bad weather for the Skåne and Blekinge regions. At the same time, the Finnish Meteorological Institute, given the unfriendly weather conditions, issued an orange code all over the country. Thus, heavy snowfall is expected, up to 25 cm, and low air temperatures down to -40 Celsius degrees. In these weather conditions, delays in the movement of the public transport, cancellation of routes, blocking and closing of roads are possible,’’ MAEIE noted.
The warning is valid for the period 3-6 January this year. In the context, citizens are urged to verify the weather warnings before planning their travels and the availability of the alternative routes of movement.
