Six hundred police officers involved to maintain road traffic safety throughout country

Chisinau, 8 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- About six hundred police officers are involved in maintaining the road traffic safety in the country.

"During the night, our colleagues from all over the country intervened in 159 cases created by the weather conditions. We are present in traffic. Take into account our recommendations", warns the National Police.

According to the State Hydrometeorological Service, in connection with a southern cyclone and a polar air mass on the territory of the country, on January 8 it will snow heavily (15-20 l/m2), isolated thunderstorms will be reported, strong wind of up to 15-20 m/s, average daily air temperature will drop by 10-15°C, and snowdrifts and ice will be expected.

To prevent risk situations, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations repeatedly urges citizens to avoid travelling today, January 8.

In order to prevent risky situations, during bad weather conditions, citizens are urged to follow the recommendations of the authorities, as well as to constantly check the weather report.
