Number of acute infections of respiratory ways increase by 30 per cent in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 9 January /MOLDPRES/ - The number of acute infections of the respiratory ways has increased by 30 per cent in the last week. The deputy head of the Chisinau city hall’s general department for medical and social assistance, Vladimir Bolocan, today unveiled data to this effect at an operative meeting of the Chisinau city hall.     

According to Bolocan, this week, by 1,000 cases more were registered during this week against the week before. Thus, following the increase in the number of acute respiratory infections, especially among minors, the municipal hospitals for children are full to the brim.   

„The Municipal Clinical Hospital of Contagious Diseases for Children is overburdened. While the institution has 100 beds, 109 patients are hospitalized. As many as 150 patients were hospitalized at the Municipal Clinical Hospital for Children No 1, where there are 120 beds. There are available places at the other hospitals,’’ Vladimir Bolocan said.    

Also, the municipal authorities urged the residents to observe the measures of prevention of the seasonal diseases, especially among children, as the viruses are quite aggressive.
