Centre of management in emergency situations ends work in Moldova

Chisinau, 9 January /MOLDPRES/ - The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) on 7-9 January 2024 activated the Centre of management in emergency situations (CDSE), with 73 employees involved. The Centre of management in emergency situations of the Commission for Emergency Situations (CSE) carried out its work in three shifts starting from 7 January 2024, 18:00, till January 2024, 12:00, the government’s communication department has reported.  

Decision-makers of the Centre monitored the situation on the roads and in the settlements from Moldova, the disconnections from power supply and cooperated with the local emergency situations commissions. As many as 5,068 people with 1,648 means were involved in the actions of prevention and liquidating the consequences of the emergency situations: IGSU – 417 forces/day, General Police Inspectorate (IGP) – 2,175 employees, General Inspectorate of Carabineers – 236, General Inspectorate of Border Police – 553, National Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Assistance Centre – 1,200; state enterprise, State Administration of Roads (ASD)  - 456; Premier Energy stock company – 10, RED Nord (Power Distribution Networks North) – 21 employees.  

According to the latest information, the atmospheric front left Moldova, with small regions of light snow in the southern region. Given the penetration of polar air into Moldova, on 10 January, the air temperature at night will oscillate between -10 and -15 Celsius degrees. Silver thaw will be maintained in places on electric wires and tree branches, as well as glazed frost on roads. No snowfall is expected.        

The traffic takes place in winter conditions on the national roads.

Presently, works are carried out on the Cantemir segment of national roads:  

G131 R35 – segment Bobocica – G132;
G134 R34 – segment Doina – Costangalia – G132;
G135 – the segment to Ceadar-Lunga.

As many 263 technical means and 294 employees are got involved. As many as 830 tons of salt and 463.5 tons of antiskid material were used. 

The Energy Ministry is in permanent touch with the representatives of the system operators from the sector of electric energy and natural gas, in order to monitor and avail of operative information on the process of liquidation of the circumstances and the status of the process of  reconnection of the consumers from the settlements hit by the special weather conditions. At the same time, decision-makers established including a mechanism of periodical reporting on the operative situation as regards the disconnections from power supply.    The Moldelectrica state enterprise reported about the stable work of the electric energy system.

The following power lines are disconnected at present:  

Overhead Power Line (OPL)-110 kV Giurgiulesti – Vulcanesti District  (the intervention team inspects the line, in order to identify the reasons for the disconnection);
OPL-110 kV „Moldovan Power Station from Kuchurgan – Purcari” (breaking of two phases at the entrance into Nezavertailovca; the intervention team carries out the works needed, so that the line will be reconnected by the evening).  

Increased flows of electric energy (500-600 MW) from Romania to Ukraine are maintained.  

The Energocom stock company informed about the full commercial coverage of the needed amount of consumption of the right bank of Dniester for 9 January 2024.  

Fourteen settlements from the Rezina district, two ones from Floresti, five settlements from the Orhei district and one from Stefan Voda and Vulcanesti stay affected.  

The natural gas transport and distribution infrastructure works in stable regime. 

According to data generated from the 112 system, 178 calls for help were received and 59 interventions were made to de-block transport units in difficulty.   

The police work in alert regime. No power failures were registered at the police inspectorates; the information flow, the reception of citizens’ calls and the reacting to them is ensured continuously. Presently, 675 policemen with 224 transport units are mobilized on roads of Moldova.       

The employees of the General Inspectorate of Carabineers work in enhanced regime and carry out activities specific to the competent sector.  

The sectors of the Border Police and Customs Service work as normal, in line with the job plans and missions.   

The border crossing points work as normal. The flow of people and transport means is balanced. The telecommunications and IT systems of the Border Police work as normal; no technical, programme defections of lack of connection with the databases were reported.  

The pupils’ winter vacation will be extended by one day or two. The decision was adopted by CSE at the level of district or municipality. The Education and Research Ministry will monitor the decisions approved by CSE locally and, if needed, will unveil updated information on the organization of the education process.   

The military units continue to work as normal; there were no requests for intervention; the sub-units meant to intervene if necessary are prepared to act jointly with the Interior Ministry’s structures.
