Chisinau, 10 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- The regulatory framework for the control of quick-frozen food intended for human consumption has been improved and aligned with EU requirements. The decision was taken today by the Government.
The main objective of the new changes is to adjust temperature monitoring procedures in transport vehicles and in storage areas for quick-frozen foods. Thus, means of transport are required to be equipped with recording devices to monitor the temperature regularly and frequently, thus ensuring optimal conditions for keeping frozen food.
The project also establishes strict requirements for instruments used in temperature control, establishing compliance with certain international standards. Food industry operators are obliged to keep the relevant documentation to enable verification of the compliance of these instruments with the required standards. At the same time, temperature records will be dated and kept by the food operator for at least one year or a longer period, taking into account the nature and preservation period of the food subject to freezing.
Also today, the Government approved another project by which the quality standards of edible oils were adjusted to EU requirements.
