Chisinau, 16 January /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 708 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova last week.
According to the National Public Health Agency (ANSP), 708 COVID-19 cases were recorded during 8-14 January (of which 128 in the Transnistrian region), down by 15 per cent against the week before. A number of 103 cases out of all cases were reported in children. Six cases of death triggered by the COVID-19 infection were registered (in four men and in two women, with ages between 56 and 85 years).
ANSP specialists recommend the observance of the principal measures for the health and safety of citizens. Among them, there is the keeping of the social distance; avoiding crowded places; observance of the rules of hands’ hygiene, respiratory and cough hygiene; observance of the sanitary measures at the working place, with airing of the closed rooms; wearing masks in the medical institutions and appealing to family physician upon the appearance of the first symptoms of the COVID-19 infection.
Physicians reiterate that the vaccination against the influenza and COVID-19 stay the most efficient way of avoiding serious cases of disease and death.
