Sportspeople of Moldova get two medals at IBSA Para-Judo Grand Prix

Chisinau, 19 February /MOLDPRES/ - Sportspeople of Moldova have got two medals at the first tournament of IBSA Para-Judo Grand Prix, held in Heidelberg, Germany.
Moldova was represented by four sportspeople at the competition. Ion Basoc won a gold medal and Oleg Cretul got the bronze. Ina Cernei and Nicolae Bondarev lost the first duels and could no longer continue the fight for medals.
The results got at the Grand Prix tournaments play an important role in the qualification for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. The points won by the competitors at these tournaments will quality the sportspeople with the best positions to participate in the Paralympic Games. Oleg Cretul and Ion Basoc are presently on the second position in the world ranking in the concerned weight categories.
The next Grand Prix tournament will be held in Antalya, Turkey, in April 2024.
