Moldovan PM has meeting with two U.S. senators

Chisinau, 20 February /MOLDPRES/ - The security situation in the region, the consequences of the hybrid war waged by Russia in Moldova, as well as the ways the United States can contribute to Moldova’s advancement on the European agenda have been discussed at a meeting of Prime Minister Dorin Recean with American senators Jeanne Shaheen and Chris Murphy, the government’s communication department reported.
The PM appreciated the USA’s constant support for the implementation of the reforms and emphasized the American side’s contribution to the development of the key sectors of the economy, among which the information technologies and the creative industries.
„Another priority reform backed by the USA is the justice reform. We will continue the effort on this segment and we will fight with the corruption, in order to ensure our national security. Priority stays also the creation of the conditions for the attraction of investors in diverse fields, including of American companies,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.
According to the PM, Moldova provides a string of facilities to business people, as it is a safe country for investments. ‘’We want the people from the United States to regard our country as a country with opportunities and economic agents should come to invest in the financial, energy sector and in the logistic field,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean noted.
For their part, the U.S. senators highlighted the progress made by the Moldovan authorities in the process of the reforms’ implementation. The official reiterated the openness for providing the assistance necessary for the consolidation of the democracy and the fulfillment of Moldova’s European aspirations.
The sides discussed also the foreign information manipulation, including the Russian misinformation campaigns, which represent a threat to Moldova. In the context, the officials established the importance to develop the citizens’ critical thinking and form the abilities of identifying the misinformation and propaganda.
