Moldova's Orchard project urges fish breeders to access money from state to optimize businesses

Chisinau, 24 February /MOLDPRES/ - The project, Moldova’s Orchard, urges the fish breeders of Moldova to access funds for the renovation and modernization of businesses.
„If you need money to buy fish seed, if you need to arrange and consolidate the dam of a fish breeding pool, if equipment is necessary, which is to bring value added to the business; if you intend to set a rural tourism unit in the aquaculture field, you can have the money through Moldova’s Orchard project, implemented by the Agriculture and Food Industry Ministry,’’ the quoted source said.
According to the project, fiscal facilities are provided, the Zero quota of the value added tax (VAT) is enforced and facilities are provided at import through the exemption from the payment of customs duties and procedures and the excise duties at the import of equipment and services. Within the project, the minimal value of allocations for investments is of 5,000 euros. The term of crediting is of 10 years at the most, with a grace period of up to four years.
Starting from 2023, the aquaculture has been benefiting from subsidies of 50 per cent of the value of investment in the construction and technological endowment of the exploitation, with a ceiling of up to five million lei (250,000 euros).
The financer of the project is the European Investment Bank (EIB). The implementation of Moldova’s Orchard project started in 2016 and the contract on financing between Moldova’s government and EIB has a value of 120 million euros.
